Detroit, Toledo & Ironton Scale Round-roof Boxcar #12250
NEWLY TOOLED ROUND-ROOF BOXCARS In the early 1930s, Pennsylvania developed a new round roof style of boxcar that allowed for a taller 10’ inner height and increased overall loading volume. The largest number of them were class X31A boxcars, identified most clearly by a distinctive non-flush inset where the car sides met the rounded roof. The 1:48 scale boxcar is accurately made to match the original Pennsylvania X31A design. A great boxcar for both steam and diesel eras.
