Union Pacific adopted a two-tone gray paint scheme similar to Pullman's in 1946. In general, the gray colors were applied to any passenger equipment used on secondary overnight trains until 1952 when a uniform yellow-gray paint scheme was adopted for all. During the transition period from steam to diesel, mixed consists of dark olive green, two-tone gray and yellow were just as common as a mix of power on the head end of these trains. Whether you're looking for a solid consist to complement your FEF-3, or just some variety for your UP fleet, these two-tone heavyweights fit the bill. Going for a more eclectic look? Mix in some of our previously released pool service Pullmans or armour yellow UP heavy and lightweight cars!
