The CNW-CHICAGO NORTHWESTERN woodchip car would have been used in the Upper Peninsula area of Michigan for wood product loading from lumber mills served by the C&NW, the MILWAUKEE and SOO/DSS&A railroads to production facilities on these railroad lines.
